School Life

Life and learning at Wetherby Arts will be exciting and busy and every day will bring fresh opportunities to explore, create and innovate.

Lessons will be creative and collaborative, challenging our pupils to be the best that they can be.

Wetherby Arts will provide an extended school day where pupils will be immersed within the arts and enabled to develop their passions, skills and talents. They will spend at least a quarter of each day on arts-based activities, including extra-curricular projects and community arts.

Pupils will select a Core Arts Pathway (CAP) from two choices:

  • Performing Arts (Dance, Music, Drama, Musical Theatre)
  • Visual Arts (Media, Film, Design, Art, Photography)

In Years 7-9, pupils will spend 5 hours per week on CAP. CAP will be options based, with a range of choices taking place each afternoon.

CAP would also include creating productions/exhibitions/showcases across the year.

From 3.30pm – 4.30pm, KS4 and KS5 pupils will be able to select from a range of community arts projects to work on or take part in rehearsals for productions/concerts, or exhibition/showcase preparation.

Pupils at Wetherby Arts will be surrounded by like-minded artists, in an environment where creativity and a performance mindset are truly valued, and where they will be able to explore new ideas in the visual and performing arts, honing their skills alongside talented and passionate specialist teachers and coaches.

Wetherby Arts is right in the centre of a cultural and artistic hub, in London’s Olympia, so our school life will capitalise on the chances this brings to learn from artistic professionals, in an environment where the arts are respected.
