Registrations for Wetherby Arts School are now open.
Entry will be by competitive examination on traditional exam subjects and by audition.
The exam will be a bespoke test created by Atom Learning for Wetherby Arts School. Testing will involve Maths, English comprehension, problem-solving and creativity. In addition, students will be auditioned or will be required to submit a portfolio for visual arts pathways and may be asked to submit other documentation (information about this will be provided nearer the time). All pupils will be interviewed.
All parts of the admissions process (interview, entrance exam and practical assessment) will be used to determine if a place is offered.
Key Dates for Year 7, Year 9, Year 10 and 12 applications:
60 places will be available for each year group. Registrations received during the registration window will be guaranteed an assessment.
When deciding on the offer of places, the school will take the following factors into account:
- Date of registration
- Scores achieved in the admissions tests
- Interviews and auditions/assessments
- References obtained from current schools and other supporting documentation (the latter will be specified, if required e.g. a portfolio of artwork).
Sibling policy: initially there will not be a sibling policy for entry in September 2025 but, looking ahead to September 2026 and beyond, younger siblings will be given a priority if they pass all the tests and assessments.
Alpha Plus pupil policy: Pupils in Alpha Plus schools will have priority for auditions and assessments. Priority will be carried through to receiving offers, if those children pass the auditions and assessments.
Future registrations for September 2027: Registration dates for entry in September 2027 will go live in May 2025 (for APG parents and siblings of those who have already been admitted to the school) and in June 2025 (for all other parents).
